Vanilla WoW Loch Modan Geography.

Hello everyone and welcome to the blog. You may not know Ignos leveled from 17-20 in Loch Modan since he finished his quests in Westfall and ended up finishing all the quests here too.

Loch Modan is a Alliance zone in the northeastern Eastern Kingdoms in the region of Khaz Modan It borders the Wetlands to the north, Dun Morogh to the west, Badlands to the south and it has a very small border with Searing Gorge in the southwest. It's wild life is mainly Bears and Poisonous Spiders.

There are multiple ways to enter it from Dun Morogh assuming you came from the Southern Gate Pass in southwestern Loch Modan you'll be in the Valley of Kings. A little bit south from there is the gate to Searing Gorge which is sealed and you must prove yourself to enter. If you go northeast you'll see Stonesplinter Valley another valley full of caves and Troggs of the Stonesplinter tribe led by Grawmug. Heading more east will take you to Grizzlepaw Ridge a mountainous area infested with bears including the elite Ol'Sooty. Southeast from there is the border with Badlands.

Instead of going there and you headed straight north from the Valley of Kings you'll reach Thelsamar a small Dwarfen city and the capital of Loch Modan. You'll get most of you're quests here. Heading north from Thelsamar you'll see a small mine infested with Kobolds to you're left. Heading more north you'll reach Algaz Station a Dwarfen outpost to watch people coming in from the North Gate Pass as their are 2 of them here. The one on the left takes you to Dun Morogh and the one on the right takes you to Wetlands.

East of Algaz Station is Silver Stream Mine once a great resource for silver for the Dwarfs they ran out of it and it was used as storage for the Explorers League [organization researching the origins of Dwarfs]. It was later infested by Kobolds. Northeast of the mine is the Stonewrought Dam a impressive architectural building which many may not know it was built by Franclorn Forgewright Chief Architect of the Dark Iron Dwarf Clan. Ironically Dark Iron Dwarf terrorists are trying to destroy it [when we talk about Dwarf lore in the future you'll learn more about them]. It splits Loch Modan and Wetlands from the north. Fun Fact you can jump down into the Wetlands but it'll crash into you're log in screen just log back in and you won't even take fall damage from there you can keep jumping down the waterfalls into Wetlands. The dam is built upon The Loch a giant lake that splits Loch Modan in half. It has many islands on it with Trogg villages.

Southeast from the dam and on the other side of Loch Modan is Mo'grosh Stronghold a Ogre settlement of the Mo'grosh Clan. It's filled with many caves the Ogres live in and their leader Chok'sul regularly orders attacks on the Dwarfs. Here is where most of you're elite quests will be at and Loch Modan has quite a lot of elite quests. Going south from the stronghold their isn't anything for a while other then 3 elite Horde Npc's who patrol the area killing players and a quest giver. Eventually you'll find the Farstrider Lodge a High Elven building where Hunters gather together and hunt the wild life around them. West of it is Ironband's Excavation Site a digsite of the Explorer's League but they have now been driven out by Troggs.

Well we're finished. Thank you so much for reading this blog.

Take Care.
