Vanilla WoW Ashenvale Geography.

Welcome to the blog. Today we will be doing Ashenvale Geography.

Ashenvale is a contested territory zone in north Kalimdor. It's bordered by Stonetalon Mountains to the southwest, The Barrens to the south east, Azshara to the east, Felwood to the north and Darkshore to the northwest. It's a very important region to the Night Elves since a lot of their history is from here. The zone is filled with Bears, Wolves, Poisonous spiders and Slimes. There are also ancient ruins everywhere in the zone.

In the northwest near the border with Darkshore is Bathran's Haunt abandoned Night Elf ruins. Recently Undead Forsaken Herbalists have come here to collect herbs for unknown reasons and have somehow caused the grass and plants to die. A little bit south of Bathran's Haunt is The Ruins of Ordil'Aran more ancient ruins which has now been taken over by the Cult of the Dark Strand one of the Shadow Council's Cults allied with the Satyr's. From those ruins heading west you'll reach The Zoram Strand a place filled with Hydra and the Wrathtail Naga Tribe. The only dungeon in Ashenvale is here called Blackfathom Deeps. A place where the Twilight's Hammer[cult but isn't affiliated with the Shadow Council], Wrathtail Naga Tribe and Satyr joined forces and build a Old God [story for another time] temple and are defending the Hydra Aku'mai. A Old God might possibly be under it.

South of the Zoram Strand is Zoram'gar Outpost a Horde and Orcish coastal village. If you didn't go west to the coast and instead went south you would reach Maestra's Post a Night Elf village. Southwest of it is Lake Falathim a lake Night Elves used to love to swim and fish at but has now been taken by Murlocs. Going south from Maestra's post you'll eventually see The Shrine of Aessina to the west of the road a ancient Shrine dedicated to the Wisp Wild God Aessina. Continuing more south you'll see Thistlefur Village a large Furlbog Village of the Thistlefur tribe former friends of the Night Elves who have now been corrupted after finding a lost idol named the Idol of Remulos full of Fel Energy and are very hostile. If you head up the hill the village is built on you'll eventually reach Thistlefur Hold a large fortress they made. Right next to Thistlefur Village is Astranaar a small city built on a lake and is the Alliance capital of Ashenvale and the claimed capital of all of Ashenvale. Here is where Alliance players will get most of their quests at.

Going very south from Astranaar takes you to Fire Scar Shrine a Shrine now corrupted by Demons of the Burning Legion. Going southeast from Astranaar takes you to The Ruins of Stardust ancient Night Elf ruins across a lake that is now corrupted from the corruption in Felwood spreading turning the water green and killing the grass and being infested by monsters called Bog Beasts. Northeast of Astranaar is Iris Lake another lake where the exact same thing happened but it has no ruins around it the Moonwell is also around here. If you keep on going east from Astranaar and then move a bit south down the map you'll see Mystral Lake the largest lake in Ashenvale and has avoided the corruption. Built in the northern part of the lake is Silverwind Refuge a outpost of the Silverwing Sentinels. West of the lake is the Talondeep Path a natural tunnel that if you go through can take you to Stonetalon Mountains.

Going more east you'll see Greenpaw Village a large Furlbog village of the Foulweald Tribe. Just a little bit more east and you'll find Raynewood Retreat a Night Elf settlement full of creatures of nature like Dryads. It has a Sentinel Tower and a outpost around a large tree. Northeast of it is Night Run a settlement of the Felmusk Satyr Clan. Northwest is The Howling Vale a cave leading to a shrine full of Worgen. And heading straight North will eventually take you to Felwood and on the way you'll see many corrupted Ancients. Southeast from Raynewood Retreat is Bloodtooth Camp a Furlbog camp of the Bloodtooth Tribe. If you headed more east you'd eventually reach Nightsong Woods and cross a bridge across Falfarren river. Over here is a outpost of the Silverwing Sentinels which sometimes gets raided by Orcs from Splintertree. South from there is Silverwing Grove the main outpost of the Silverwing Sentinels and the Alliance Warsong Gulch PvP portal and quests are here. Fallen Sky Lake is next to it and is very corrupted and has Bog Beasts in it.

Heading a little bit more east you'll see the border between Ashenvale and The Barrens. There is a small opening here that you can go through to sneak around the guards making Alliance able to get in to The Barrens. Over here is also Warsong Labor Camp a site of controversy in Azeroth. This was the original camp Grom made and even after he died the Horde kept on cutting down tree after tree to help build their catapults, buildings and other things. The Night Elves call this an attack against nature and the Silverwing Sentinels attacked the Warsong Outriders members of Grom's Warsong Clan and the one's who are cutting them down. They are fighting a battle with them in Warsong Gulch. A bit more east and you reach the Dor'Danil Barrow Den. It was a place full of sleeping Druids but the Horde recently captured it but left the Druids alone except for the Forsaken Undead who poisoned them and turned their minds insane the Forsaken and the Druid spirits are inside of the large tunnel system. While outside Forsaken and Night Elf Rouges battle to get the Den back. Splintertree Post is very close to it and is the Horde capital of Ashenvale Horde players will get most of their quests here.

There is a river close to it that leads to Felfire Hill a place full of demons of the Burning Legion. The Horde has put barricades on the bridges to prevent them from attacking. Going east up the road you'll reach Satyrnaar a Satyr village of the Blackheart Clan. If you fight you're way through it or just swim around it you'll reach Xavian the Satyr capital of Ashenvale a village home of the Xavian clan. If you didn't go there and instead kept on going east you'll reach Forest Song ancient ruins but have now been populated again by Night Elves and some Dryads trying to stop the corruption and have used it as their base of operations. North of it is Bough Shadow a stairway with a portal to the Emerald Dream and is guarded by green Dragonkin Druids are unable to use this portal however. South of Forest Song is the Warsong Lumber Camp another Lumber site of the Warsong Outriders. Heading more east from here will bring you into Azshara. Thank you so much for reading this blog
